Proper road position starts before the turn, not at the last second. A driver reads direction signs, markings and traffic flow early.
Before changing lanes, use the order: mirror, signal, interval check, smooth movement. Sudden movement creates risk even at low speed.
If the lane is occupied or the maneuver cannot be done safely, it is better to continue and rebuild the route than force it late.
This is especially important on wide Dnipro avenues, near intersections and where markings change lane direction.
How we train this in class
- break the rule down on a clear diagram
- reinforce it with test questions
- move the situation to a real Dnipro route
